US Bank 25,000+ Point Winter Olympics Sign Up Bonus

The Winter Olympics are almost here… and long time readers know what that means…

Just like clockwork the US Bank Flexperks sign up is back with an additional bonus based on the US team medal count. Six years ago, I picked up this card and it turned out to be a lucrative sign up bonus!

This year, they’ve increased the minimum to 25,000 points. The standard sign up bonus is 20,000 points. During the Winter Olympics, each medal is worth more points than the summer Olympics.

How to Get Your Olympic Sign Up Bonus

  1. Sign up for the U.S. Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa* between February 5, 2018 and March 10, 2018.
  2. Spend $2,000 in the first four months to earn 25,000 points.
  3. Get additional points for each medal Team USA brings home when you make a purchase by April 6, 2018:
    • Gold – 500 points
    • Silver – 250 points
    • Bronze – 100 points

Terms and Conditions

  • Annual Fee: $49 (waived for the first year)
  • FlexPoints will expire at the end of the calendar quarter, at 11:00 p.m. Central Time, that is five (5) years from the date on which they were earned.
  • Existing and previous FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa accounts do not qualify for the Visa PyeongChang Bonus FlexPoints for a similar account type.
  • No foreign transaction fees.

Earn Points. Earn 1 point per $1 on all purchases. You can also earn double points on most cell phone charges and on the category you spend the most on (out of groceries, airline travel or gas) each billing cycle. You’ll earn double points on charitable donations.

Redeem Points. You can redeem FlexPoints for award travel on more than 150 airlines. Travel rewards points are worth $.015. Your 25,000 bonus points are equal to $375.

Redeem for Cash. You can also redeem your Flexpoints for gift cards, cash back into a US bank checking account, or for statement credits. I was able to redeem my all my points for statement credits after the Olympic games.
