American Express Platinum 100,000 Point Sign Up Bonus Tonight

Posted by Madison on November 23, 2016

It’s back! The American Express Platinum sign up bonus is 100,000 points right now! The standard offer on the Platinum card is 40,000 points. If you are interested, you’ll want to drop everything and apply tonight. Last spring many readers missed this offer when it disappeared within an hour.

Since I’m working on spending requirements for my Huge $5,325+ Credit Card Application Spree, this offer fits right in! I applied a few minutes ago and was approved instantly.

Since this one probably won’t be around by the end of the week to feature it for Free Money Friday, we are celebrating tonight! Happy (early) Thanksgiving!

I’m slowly getting comfortable with the cards with a $450 annual fee, since I can get over $1,000 in benefits to make it worthwhile. Although if I add the annual fees I just paid on the American Express Business Platinum 100,000 Point Sign Up Bonus and the Citi Prestige Sign Up Bonus Worth Over $1,000 to this offer, it’s getting a bit crazy!

How to Get Your 100,000 Point Sign Up Bonus

  1. Open a new American Express Business Platinum card using this link: Amex Platinum 100,000. You may need to open the link incognito to see the offer.
  2. Spend $3,000 in the first 3 months.
  3. Get 100,000 bonus points.

Terms and Conditions

  • $450 annual fee NOT WAIVED.
  • No foreign transaction fee.
  • Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product.

More on American Express

No Manufactured Spending. Some people had trouble with their bonuses when this offer came out last spring. The source, Doctor of Credit, suggests you take screenshots to document the offer and avoid all manufactured spend.

Earning Points. You earn 1 point per dollar on each purchase and 2 points for each dollar of eligible purchases made when you book on the American Express Travel website.

Redeeming Points. See the Best Way to Maximize American Express Points to get the most out of your points.

Airline Credits. The card comes with a $200 airline credit per calendar year for incidentals; you could use the $200 credits both in 2016 and 2017 to offset the steep annual fee. Incidentals exclude tickets and gift cards in the terms, however, I just redeemed the airline credit on my business card for Amazon gift cards using the United Mobile shopping app.

More Benefits. The card also includes lounge access, access to the fine hotels and resorts program, Boingo wi-fi, and a global entry or TSA precheck statement credit.

Stacking. When you get your new card, don’t forget to sign up for the holiday bonuses right now from American Express to stack with the offer: Amazon Savings: 3x Rewards via Amex Offers and American Express 2x Rewards for Small Business Shopping.

Do the Math. Redeeming the 103,000 points (100,000 bonus points plus 3,000 points on spending) for 1:1 conversion on points would yield $1,030 in gift cards. Less the annual fee of $450, we stand to make $580 right away. Add in $400 in airline statement credits, and this sign up bonus could be worth $980 or more. If you opt for transfers to airlines, the points could be worth much more!
