Plastiq Bill Payment Service Overview
Plastiq is an online payment service. You can use your credit card or debit card to send payments via check or electronic bank transfer.
You can send payments for your mortgage, rent, or any other business. You can also send payments to people for goods or services. You can earn credit card rewards on your payments.
Maximizing this Plastiq Offer
Meet Spending Bonuses. This is an easy way to meet the spending bonus on any cards you signed up for recently. I’ve been picking up new Citi American Airlines Sign Up Bonuses every other month and this was an easy way to schedule all the spending required on the latest card!
Earn Credit Card Cash Back. In addition to meeting spending bonuses, it’s a great way to generate cash rewards on payments that normally don’t accept a credit card. I’m earning 2% cash back with the Citi Double Cash credit card.
Product Change. I switched one of our other Citi credit cards to another Double Cash card yesterday to take advantage of the offer. The new card appeared as an option in my Masterpass account right away, even though I haven’t received the new card yet.
Multiple Payments. I scheduled weekly $500 payments to our mortgage. If you are splitting up your monthly payment in a similar way, be sure that your mortgage company records the payments as your regular payments instead of just applying them as extra payments to your principal.
Targeted Offer. The offer says it’s targeted, however, I used an email address that didn’t receive the offer and it worked!
Masterpass. Masterpass works with your Mastercards. They currently have options to add your credit cards from Citi, Capital One, Barclaycard and Bank of America. I sorted by Mastercard in the cash back section of our credit card directory to find all the cards we have that might work.
Adding Cards. To add a new card from Masterpass in your Plastiq account, after you choose to add a new card, select “More Ways to Add” and you’ll see the option to Add a Card from Masterpass. My Masterpass defaults to Citi, but you can use the option to Change Your Wallet to access Masterpass using other issuers.
More on Plastiq
New Plastiq Users. If you are a new user, you’ll also earn a sign up bonus of fee free dollars to use with other credit cards.
Earn a Profit on Plastiq Payments with a Fee. In addition to the fee free offer, I use Plastiq on a regular basis with our Chase Ink Preferred card. The card earns 3x and covers the standard Plastiq fee of 2.5%, generating a profit.
Plastiq Limitations. Plastiq limits the types of payments you can make with various credit cards. For instance, you cannot pay your mortgage with an American Express or Visa card. In addition, American Express also restricts payments for autos and student loans. However, since this offer is for Mastercards, you should be good to go!
Referrals. You can refer your friends to earn fee free dollars. The referrals change over time. Right now, you’ll earn 1,000 fee free dollars when you refer your friends and family.
