Discover Card Holiday Rewards

Posted by Madison on October 24, 2008

Discover Card has a great deal for your holiday shopping. For every $200 you spend on your Discover Card at participating malls, you get a $20 gift card! It’s an easy 10% back on your holiday shopping.

Discover Mall Rewards

Details of the receipts into rewards program:

Dates: November 1, 2008 – January 4, 2009

Location: There are over 160 malls. The participating malls will be listed at Discover Mall Promo on November 1.

Amount: You can usually get multiple gift cards. Last year there was a limit, but all the details aren’t up at the site yet.

For some inspiration, you can check out the Fat Wallet thread where someone mentions a run last year by maxing out “$1000 each on 4 different discover cards at 4 different malls.”

How to Get Your Rewards

  1. Sign up for a Discover card if you don’t have one yet. I posted this early just in case. If you apply for one today, you should get it in the next week or two just in time for the promotion.
  2. Buy gifts on your Discover card at participating malls.
  3. Turn in your receipts to the mall’s Customer Service by 1/4/09.

This is part of the Free Money Friday series. Check back every Friday for more great finds. Also see Discover Rewards Calendar.

Comments to Discover Card Holiday Rewards

  1. I hate Discover. I know that I am not the only one. They are the absolute worst when it comes to sticking people with fees and defaults rates. Beware.

    Lost Cause

  2. I love Discover. I have never paid a fee or interest to them. The handful of times I have been late on a payment because I was out of town or just screwed up I called them and they removed all the fees. I put everything on the Discover card and made back over $600 in cash back bonuses each year without ever paying them a dime for the use of the card.
