Another Economic Stimulus Package?
The financial world continues to change on a daily basis. There’s talk of a new stimulus package and the possibility of making 401k contributions taxable.
In addition, the new inflation rate for I-Bond was announced and the earnings subject to Social Security tax is going up again. The new maximum will be $106,800 in January, since wages increased 4.7% in 2007.

I sure hope the plan to make 401k contributions taxable dies a quick death. It seems like it would kill the plans altogether. At least with the 401k some people contribute and end up with a retirement nestegg.

That 401K idea is not a plan and not being sponsored by anyone in Congress, no need to worry. 🙂 It was written by a professor and presented to a few Senators, that’s all. It will never happen.
