Earning Points. Earn points on every purchase: 3 points for every $1 spent on Amazon.com, 2 points for every eligible $1 spent at gas stations, restaurants, and drugstores, and 1 point for every other $1 spent.
Using Points. You can use your points to buy the stuff you want right at checkout with “Shop with Points.” What’s great is that you can pay for all or only part of your order with points – there’s no minimum. Every 100 points = $1.00 towards your purchase. You can also redeem your points for cash back, gift cards, travel and more.
Update: Just after publication, Amazon changed the offer to a $30 sign up bonus. Boo! But, if you shop at Amazon, it’s still a great card. We updated the article with the most recent offer.

I clicked on the link and it takes me to a page that is only offering $30 off. The title of the article says $50 off. What is up?
CharlesHi Charles,
MadisonThanks for letting me know. Unfortunately, it looks like Amazon changed the sign up bonus as we published! I updated the post. Hopefully, some readers were able to snag the $50 before they changed it. I’ll keep my eye on it and let everyone know if I see the $50 offer again!
I have too many credit cards already.
LindaI like the drugstores component. None of my existing cards have a permanent drugstores category.
RebeccaYou would have to shop alot at amazon to make this worth you while
Katie ChristiansonNot really. You don’t have to shop at Amazon at all – even to redeem your points. You get 3 points for every dollar spent at Amazon, 2 points per dollar for purchases at gas stations, drugstores, office supply stores, and restaurants, and 1 point per dollar everywhere else. You can redeem the points at Amazon or redeem them for cash back, gift cards, or travel from Chase.
EdInterestingly, when my husband was ordering from Amazon last night, he saw the prompt to sign up for the credit card and get a $30 gift card. He thought I would get more use out of the credit card, so we signed him out and signed me in to make the purchase and sign up for the card. I was offered a $50 gift card instead of the $30 they offered to him. Maybe the amount you’re offered depends on how much you’ve spent with them? or how recently?
