Awhile back I converted my U.S. Bank FlexPerks Card to the US Bank Cash Plus Card to avoid the annual fee.
Since you have to sign up for the Cash Plus 5% categories now, I added it to our list of Quarterly Rotating Rewards Cards.
One of the benefits of the Cash Plus card is the redemption bonus. Every time you redeem $100 or more, you’ll get a $25 cash back bonus! However, my statement last month includes this note:
Beginning April 1, 2015, the $25 Cash+ Bonus you receive when you redeem cash rewards for $100 or more in a single redemption will now be limited to one per the lifetime of the account. Currently, the $25 Cash+ Bonus has a limit of one per calendar year.
We have just a few days to claim an extra $25 redemption bonus before the new rule kicks in. What a bizarre Free Money Friday!
How to Get Your Extra $25 Bonus
- Sign into your Cash Plus account online.
- Redeem $100 before April 1, 2015.
- Earn your final $25 bonus for the calendar year.
- Wait until 2016 to redeem your lifetime redemption bonus.
Doctor of Credit verified with US Bank you’ll be able to pick up both the calendar and the lifetime bonus.
More on Cash Plus
Earning Cash Back. US Bank 5% cash back is earned on your first $2,000 in combined net purchases (purchases minus returns or credits) in your chosen 5% categories.
Selecting Cash Back. Make sure you choose your categories each quarter. The cutoff date is usually before the new quarter starts! If you do not choose your categories, all net purchases earn 1% cash back.
