Free Year of Unlimited Talk, Text and Data from Sprint
Sprint is offering a free year of unlimited cell service including talk, text and data.
We were in the middle of switching our cell phone service to ProjectFi when we made a big pivot back towards Sprint after a friend told me about an offer for a year of free Sprint service!
You need to “bring your own device” and port a phone number to Sprint to activate the offer.

It’s a limited time offer and appears to end at the end of the month. However, it was offered earlier this summer and extended, so we probably won’t know until next week if it will be extended.

How to Get Your Year of Free Sprint Service
- Sign up for a Sprint account via this offer page.
- Bring an unlocked phone on the list.
- Get a Sprint SIM card.
- Activate your phone and port in a phone number from another carrier.
- Pay only taxes for one year.
Terms and Conditions

- Customers who use more than 23GB of data during a billing cycle will be deprioritized during times & places where the Sprint network is constrained.

Unlimited Sprint Service. The unlimited bring your own phone plan includes unlimited: domestic calling, texting & data & 10GB of high-speed Mobile Hotspot, VPN & P2P.
Total Cost. The plan will cost $5 per month. When you sign up for autopay and ebill, you’ll get a $5 discount. However, you’ll need to pay the taxes and fees on the $5 each month. At the end of one year (after 10/31/2018), the plan will change to the Unlimited Freedom plan ($60/month for 1 line, $40/month for the second line and $30/month for the next three lines). Put a note in your calendar to find new service before then so you aren’t stuck switching to a high priced plan.
Eligible Phones. Check the list on the offer page to see if your phone is eligible. Included on the list are various Apple iPhones, Google Nexus, Pixel, Moto and Samsung Galaxy phones. Most of the phones are recent versions released in the last 1-2 years. I found a Moto E4 at Amazon to be one of the cheapest phones to activate the offer.
Multiple Lines. Once you set up the first line, you’ll need to call to add the other lines. You can have up to five lines.
Sprint SIM card. You can have Sprint send you a SIM card for $2.99 plus $10 shipping. However, when I called last night, because of the limited time offer, the phone rep suggested I visit a Sprint store or Best Buy to pick one up today to activate before the offer expires.
Stack. Your bill won’t be much, but you can pay with cash rewards credit cards to stack your savings.
