- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2017I ordered this brand because I trust the quality of Kingston from past/current experience. My USB 3.0 16gb flash drive worked fine, but as expected for this budget price point, it is certainly no speed demon. It bounced around from 4-8MB per sec while copying a bit over 300 MP3 files (almost 3GB worth of data). For contrast, my old USB 2.0 flash drives do the same thing at about 2-3MB per sec. I won't be doing much reading or writing to/from this flash drive, as it was purchased as storage back-up for some random files/data just in case I need it down the road. USB flash drives usually fail due to excessive writing/overwriting (each storage section can only be written/overwritten so many times before failure), so keep that in mind. They are perfect for somewhat limited writing to drive, and lots of reading from drive.
UPDATE 1/1/2018 - Survived (with cap on) full wash cycle in the washing machine with no damage. Nice!
UPDATE 8/2/2018 - All 3 of these USB drives that I purchased are still working fine, within their expected limitations (as mentioned in original review above) - even the one that went through a full cycle in the washing machine (w/cap on). :)
- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2015I love the USB2 speed of this device. I have an assortment of comparably priced USB3 flash drives from 5 manufacturers so was able to do a transfer rate comparison. Of course, transfer rates may vary depending on your machine, but by comparing all on the same machine one should be able to make a relative judgement.
USB2 read speed was 23 MB/s, which was comparable to other, bargain-priced flash drives and second only to my Corsair. The 21 MB/s USB2 write speed, however, blew everything else away and was almost 3 times faster than the second fastest flash drive in my tests.
While these were tests of USB3 flash drives, I didn't get particularly impressive USB3 speeds from any of them. Yes, they're all faster in my system's USB3 port than my USB2 port, but not an order of magnitude faster. Maybe my USB3 drivers aren't optimized or something, so I'm not taking off a star for that.
As a USB3 device the Kingston is at least as fast as anything else in the same price range, and in a USB2 port the price and performance make this a better buy than USB2-specific flash drives.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2017I bought this drive to be used as my dedicated Operating System installer and it's worked great. Only had one issue and that was installing Windows 10 and my computer didn't recognize the drive until I plugged it into the back of my computer (instead of the front, through the chassis), but that could have been more of the Case/Mobo than the drive itself. Other than that, it's worked great for Windows 7&10, and Ubuntu 14.04, 16.04, and Ubuntu Server 16.04 installations.
I'm sure this drive would work well for everyday use. The case seems a bit cheap, but unless you go with a metal case, they're all like that for the most part.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2017Great USB drive for music, I use this drive with about 10-12GB of music that I try to update weekly with a couple new songs and playlists which I then plug into my car's USB port to listen. I've been using this drive a couple months now without issue. A previous cheaper drive gave out after about a year of the same usage, hopefully this one lasts longer.
In terms of transfer speed it is more than fast enough, I use Mediamonkey to manage my music and the device recognition and auto sync of new songs is done within a two minutes usually.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2016This is actually a great inexpensive USB Flash Drive. I read some reviews saying if the file is more than like 2GB its really slow. Maybe it just depends on the computer as well? Not sure, because I have downloaded the same files on my old flash drive and on the Kingston 16GB 3.0 Flash Drive. The File was about 3.4 Gb I believe, but it really does download faster than my old flash drive. What took 5-6 minutes on my old Flash drive took about 2 minutes on the Kingston Flash Drive. I even had multiple files which added over 10GB of Data and that only took close to 5 minutes. Honestly, its really great especially for the price. It works perfect on my computer, Blu-ray player, Playstation 3, as well as my friends Playstation 4, The only two problems I have with it, is I wish it had a little light so i know for a fact its fully connected to my devices and also If it was just a little less wide. Because when I have my charger wire connected on the computer, it sorta rubs and pushes the wire when im trying to connect the flash drive to the other USB port. But besides that, Its really a great Flash Drive, I do recommend it to everyone. Overall Score 4/5!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2015This is an amazing product! The data that I transfer to this flash drive is about 7MB per second which is great! Also, the quality feels good and not like those PNY flash drives where their plastic flash drives actually crack on the tip. The design is average but I really like how the cap can be put on the back of the flash drive, on the hook. Also, the hook can be hooked onto a key or chain without problem. I am very impressed with this product and I prefer this product than others like Udisk or PNY. I recommend this product!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2015cheaply made, my fault for being in a rush. tere are much better 3.0 usb drives on the market for the same price or cheaper. not sure why i jumped on this one exactly.. cant score it too low though, it does what it says.. just not a fan of the plastic case that scratches easily, reminds me of 2001-2004 thumb drive, nothing special here. Yet another thumb drive :)

1.0 out of 5 stars Me han enviado un pendrive que no coincide en nada con las características que se supone tiene que tener. Lentísimo
Me considero estafado.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent capacity and speed combined with good value
Seems to be fast :
USB2: seems to start at around 33Mb/s and then peaks and troughs between 30 and 20 Mb/s for USB to desktop write speed & starts at about 22-23Mb/s and then slows down to 5.5-8Mb/s after a couple of seconds desktop to USB write speed.
USB3: However it obviously performs a lot better on USB3 - around 107 Mb/s USB to computer and around 27-30 Mb/s computer to USB write speed (although you can get peaks and troughs sometimes) - Still fantastic for this little thing.
All-in-all pretty good with newer USB3 computers.

Buona chiavetta. Ne avevo bisogno di una 3.0 e questa funziona molto bene. Trasferimenti veloci, bel design, nessun tipo di problema. Ottimo rapporto qualità/costo. Fantastica.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not super high speed like other brands however still working after 1 year
After owning it for more than a year, this flash drive is still working. I use it at home with my mac and at work with windows 7.
It works both for mac and windows.
Read and write speed is not amazingly fast like other. I have a sandisk ultra. SanDisk Ultra 16 GB USB Flash Drive USB 3.0 up to 100 MB/s
The Sandisk ultra is faster.
I did a speed test on a USB3 port.
Read: 45.2 Mb/secs
Write: 16.7 MB/secs
