    I've been wanting a wine aerator ever since I used one at a friend's house. I looked up the brand she bought and it was about $35. Not bad, but because I was moving I didn't make it a priority. When the dust finally settled I had forgotten the name of my friend's aerator so I went on Amazon and typed in "wine aerator" and a bunch came up. I started to cull through each product and the reviews and got to Sharkk. First of all, the design of the Sharkk aerator was the best one and caught my eye right away. Then, of course, the price really got me because it's a fraction of what most aerators cost. So I read some reviews and was sold. I bought it and have been using for the passed couple of weeks and I love it! This is a great product. And a few days ago Sharkk sent me a lovely letter asking how I like the product and if I need any help with it. Love that! Great customer service on top of a great product that is beautifully designed as well as effective and for way less then anything else in its category. Why can't all companies operate like Sharkk??? I will definitely be using more Sharkk products in the future as I truly appreciate this company and want to support its growth.

    I believe we've had this for about 6 months. One night after washing, the top part just separated from the bottom. It hadn't been dropped or improperly handled. It just came apart. I gave it two stars because it really did work well initially and we liked it very much....until it separated.

    When I opened the product I first took it apart to clean it. This is when I noticed that the threaded part of the bottom section (where the wine comes out) must have had a molded incorrectly because only one of the three points it was supposed to be connected actually are. The product works but the next bump, drop, or overtighten will cause the threads to break off in the top section (where you pour the wine in) leaving me with a acrylic paper weight. Get what you pay for I guess.

    This product seems to do what it advertises, to aerate your cheapo bottle of wine and make it taste better. Also, this aerator is much cheaper than competitors products and seems to work just as good. We have used it on red and white wine and you can see it gurgling and bubbling when it comes out. It is a little tricky to figure out how fast to pour the wine - if you go too fast, you will overflow!

    UPDATE #1 - After only 6 months of regular use and cleaning, my aerator completely fell apart! I was unscrewing the bottom section to clean it, and the piece of plastic where the threading is completely separated from the bottom section, making it completely useless JUNK! For the price, I guess I should have expected it...

    UPDATE #2 - I sent SHARKK an email after my aerator broke, and they promptly sent me a new one within one week. I realized after the fact that there is 1-year warranty on the product. I'm very pleased that they honored the warranty and sent me a replacement so quickly.

    This device is easy to use and clean up, and I find that it does soften the tannins in wine poured straight from the bottle. You shouldn't expect it to do as good a job as decanting will, but when you don't have the opportunity or the inclination to decant, this will noticeably improve the flavor of your wine.

    I experienced a problem with the first aerator I received. The chamber which surrounds the long channel through which the wine flows is supposed to be sealed and mine wasn't. Consequently, water seeped into the chamber when I rinsed the aerator. But the company was great. I didn't even have to initiate communication with them. They emailed me immediately after they'd sent the aerator, asking how I liked it and wanting to know if I had any problems. I replied with a brief explanation of the problem and they quickly sent me a new aerator with their apologies. Then they followed up with another email, wanting to make sure I was happy. This is customer service par excellence!

    I give the aerator itself 4.5 stars (4 stars for performance and 5 for value). The company gets 5 stars for superb customer service. I wish every company I did business with were so solicitous.
