Whether you are trying to keep track of a young infant/child, a leadfoot teen, aging parent or tracking a piece of luggage on a family trip, the Little Buddy by Insignia does a great job! We've tested our little buddy at different locations and found it to be very accurate, often within 15 feet!! It's easy to set up and you can check on your tracked asset from any smart phone or a PC connected to the Internet. Whether protecting your family members or valuable property (cars, luggage, etc.), the Little Buddy does exactly what it says it will do. The battery lasts about a week before it needs recharging, and you can either pay by the month or by the location. It's a great piece of inexpensive technology that gives you great piece of mind.

I ordered my little buddy for a trip i was taking. I really thought this product would be a cool item to have on my dogs collar in case she got lost. when i got the item i tried to activate it through the maker insignia. After several failed attempts I called insignia and was advised that Best Buy is the only authorized seller of this product and that any item not purchased through them was counterfeit and could not be activated. Despite this the customer service rep went ahead and ran the id# on my unit and to my dismay it was not in their system and therefore useless.

so any one who is selling this item on Amazon is selling a counterfeit unit that cannot be activated.

      Buyer be warned !!

Still trying to get my money back.

Apparently now only sold at Best Buy, the Little Buddy runs on the Sprint network and works almost exactly like Sprint's Family Locator service (powered by Wavemarket). In my area the accuracy is usually within a few yards, which I think is fantastic.

The monthly service is one of the least expensive out there - and the only one I know of with a $0/mo, price per locate option.

The battery lasts at best 24 hours. This makes it pretty much useless for my purposes. A cell phone on Sprint/Family locator lasts about a week.

If these parameters work for you, you might be very happy with this device. For me, battery life is paramount and I had to return the device after a trial period.

Tracker is free for month, then there is a monthly $15 fee. You could be within a block of a location that you frequent a lot and it shows up on the tracker log. Tracker data is not real-time. It will log in 2 min increments where your child has been. Best to use on a babysitter or kids that running around alot. If you plan to use this on an adult, think again, there's a usage agreement that restricts the tracker to be use strictly on your own kids.

We are very happy with our unit. It works well, is very accurate and is small. We purchased the car charger and the extended battery pack and it meets our needs well. Recommended.

In my review of Little Buddy, I mentioned a promising alternate product I was going to look into: Low cost, real time GPS tracker with advanced features.

I've read and reread the reviews and product descriptions, and, maybe it's me, but it took me a few times to realize that *** THE PRODUCT IS FOR SOMETHING THAT CAN CARRY ITS WEIGHT AND PROVIDE BATTERY POWER, LIKE A CAR, NOT FOR A PERSON, EXCEPT PERHAPS ONE WHO USES A POWERED WHEEL CHAIR. *** So much for thorough reading and thorough review-writing. Sorry for any confusion.
