  • NO DILUTION - If you enjoy your favorite alcohol gently chilled, then you know what it's like to have it get ruined by ice dilution. Worry no more! Whisky chilling rocks are designed to cool your favorite bourbon, scotch, or whiskey in 5 minutes without having to worry about losing natural flavors.
  • US MADE SOAPSTONE - Using a closed-loop sustainable milling process, Teroforma has proudly kept their manufacturing right at home, in the USA. Each whisky stone is handcrafted in the oldest soapstone mill in America from the finest soapstone materials around.
  • REUSABLE ICE CUBES - Ice is great for the first use, after that it just melts away. With whiskey beverage cubes you don't have to worry about your investment going away. Simply wash when not in use and air dry before placing in the freezer for 4 hours before placing in your next dram.

Product Description

The Original Whiskey Stones. In 2007, Teroforma re-engineered a centuries' old Scandinavian tradition of using cold stones to cool stove-hot liquids by creating a new way to chill your favorite liquors without the diluting effects of ice. Teroforma's thorough process focused on creating a closed-loop sustainable production process for materials in the USA. Through this, Teroforma partnered with the oldest soapstone mill in Vermont to help provide a consistent, quality product that they could be proud of. Out of this, Whisky Stones were born, and an industry revolution soon followed. Today, you can find hundreds of suppliers for Whiskey Stones, but nobody follows the meticulous attention to detail, quality of materials, and domestic manufacturing process that Teroforma is proud of. Each stone is handcrafted from the finest soapstone materials in the US, so you don't have to worry about your glassware getting scratched due to inferior craftsmanship or materials. Never heard of a whiskey stone or rock? Well it's simple, whiskey chilling rocks are designed to function just like ice but without the unwanted dilution effect that you normally get. Simply place in the freezer for at least 4 hours prior to use, drop in your dram, and enjoy. When done, wash and repeat. Make any whiskey, scotch, or bourbon lover happy on their birthday, Father's Day, or Christmas with the gift of The Original Whiskey Stones from Teroforma.

Not all it’s cracked out to be?
I know I bought the used set, but it still should have been nine stones and I only received six? They were not packaged correctly and one was broke, and I’m not taking a chance using it so I’m down to five.

As some of the other reviewers mentioned, these are not meant to fully chill your drink. If you want to do so, I suggest storing the bottle in the refrigerator or just use ice cubes and deal with the dilution. Chances are however, if you are after a super cold drink, you don't care about dilution, as both harm the flavors of the beverage, so this product is not for you in the first place.

This product is meant to put a slight chill on whiskey to take the edge off, but not so cold as to ruin the flavor, and without diluting it with melting ice. For that purpose, they do their job perfectly. Combined with a proper glass, this product has thoroughly increased my enjoyment of scotch whiskey and bourbon.

First off these stones are not ice cubes! They feel cold in your hand and in the glass but the whiskey will not feel cold on your tongue. Instead, they cut the "burn" you get from drinking warm whiskey. Surprisingly (to me, at least) this really does bring out a lot of flavors that you may not have tasted before. I have used these with both Maker's 46 and Jim Beam Devil's Cut and they go well with both.

Something I noticed is that I tend to swirl the whiskey in the glass prior to each sip - don't do this! The last few sips will be somewhat "chalky" because the stones will tap against each other and the glass and because they are so soft, they grind a bit and leave behind a powder. No flavor differences, just slight texture.

I highly recommend these if you or someone you know even occasionally drinks whiskey neat, and likes fun things to try every now and then.

You will often hear someone ordering their favorite drink prepared in their favorite way: "Scotch Rocks, please." It means three fingers of scotch, usually a single-malt, over a few ice cubes. Now you can have that same drink without diluting the flavor of the whisky with melting ice. The answer is Teraform Whisky Stones. They are smooth polished, like river rocks, stones which you keep in the freezer until 4:00. Then you take them from the freezer and place them in the bottom of your favorite glass. The stones cool your whisky without bruising it with melted water. Scotch drinkers worldwide have voted to approve the practice using other spirits, but only in the certainty that the user will soon graduate to single-malt scotch. They make great gifts for your whisky lover too!

I am really impressed with these whisky stones. I've used them for whisky, with great success, but I also use them for water, soda, and juice. I had a glass of soda, which I left on the counter after drinking the soda. I came back to the glass the next day, and the stones were still cold! I'd recommend them for anyone seeking to cool down a drink with out watering it down, but I also think these are great to have on hand in lieu of regular ice! We don't have an automatic ice maker, so it is nice to have a few on hand when we have to wait for the freshly-made ice to fully freeze. Great product!

I bought these for my father as a Christmas present but of course I had to help him test them out. We had them in the freezer for at least double the recommended 4 hours before we used them, yet they still didn't seem to chill a drink very well. After my first drink I went back to just using ice. Sure, ice watered down the whiskey a little, but it stayed cooler way longer. Though the stones didn't keep the drink cold for very long, they would still be a very nice conversation piece should you have guests over for some drinks. They did not add any taste whatsoever to the drink, as advertised, which is what someone unfamiliar with the product would assume. I would say that if you want to keep your drink chilled, stick with ice. But if you want to entertain some guests and wow them with something a little different, these are very nice.

I got these as a gift for my Law School BFF shortly before graduation. He's into bourbon and he likes to drink it neat. But he also likes it cold. Obviously, if you add ice to whisky, it dilutes it and messes with the flavors and the strength of it. That's where these whisky stones come in! You keep them in a bag in your freezer, just as if they were ice cubes, and you pour yourself a double and drop in 2-3 of these. They keep the drink cold without messing with the flavors. When you're done, you rinse them off and stick them back in the freezer. They're a great gift for any lover of whisky (or wine!) who doesn't want to add ice and mess with the flavors of the beverage.

I bought this because I've read about using stones for chilling your whisky for a few years and decided to try it. The product works, however, as one reviewer mentioned do not expect your whisky to be ice cold. This product is to chill it, not freeze it.

Overall I enjoyed it because I do like my whisky straight (Scotch) and this provides a nice alternative when I haven't been able to store is in the wine cellar thereby having a slight chill already.

As long as you understand the limitations of the product I recommend it. Also, make sure you rinse with water and air dry them before placing in freezer - otherwise water on/in the rocks could cause them to split/crack.
