- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2011i love lego's architecture series. the empire state building is a masterpiece itself. the lego impression of it is very good. it is not one of the larger or more detailed pieces. while the standard and general building blocks sets are phenomenal for encouraging children's creativity, these pre-designed architectural packages seem to be geared for problem solving and construction / imitation. in comparison to the other items in the architectural series, i am not AS impressed as i wish i had been - but, it is, nevertheless, a marvel. i give everything a grade, and this i believe merits a grade of "A-". it is age appropriate, best with children with good to very good visuo-spatial skills and problem solving. it is a great tool for bringing kids and parents together. i highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2016Two years ago, I decided to build all of the Lego Architecture kits, but only if I had been to that site. I bought and assembled the Trevi Fountain. It is clever and attractive. Recently I decided to continue, and purchased the Empire State Building. It may be the most underwhelming thing I have ever done. I can't believe I spend $60 on a few plastic blocks that assemble a pathetic model about 8 inched tall. Sitting next to the Trevi Fountain, it looks sad.
The book that came with the kit introduces us to the artist, Adam Reed Tucker. The accompanying picture shows him working on a beautiful model that is about 8' tall. If I were to meet Mr. Tucker, I would respectfully ask him, "Is that all the better you could do with this majestic building?" Considering the beauty and elegance of the Empire State Building, a little more effort could have resulted in a model that would be front and center on my display shelf. Instead, I will always look at it with disappointment in Lego for taking my money and disappointment in myself for spending my hard-earned money on this dinky, poorly-thought-out design.
The entire model consists of 77 parts (if my count is correct), and takes about 10 minutes to assemble.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2010This was a Father's Day gift for my husband. He love architecture and Legos, so it was the perfect combination. He loved the set, and had fun with our 6 year-old son putting it together. However, I was a surprised at how small the end structure is. The size is in the description, but it still is quite small when all assembled. Regardless, it's a nice set to have and we look forward to buying other sets from this collection of Legos.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2013Purchased for my son for Christmas along with the Seattle Space Needle. My son likes to keep his lego pieces put together and on his shelf. This piece is not a challenge. If you have an early lego builder, it may take longer than it took my son. He had it completed in less than 5 minutes. After purchasing the White House, which was very challenging I thought the rest of the architecture collection would be more in depth. The two I purchased were very basic.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2015HUGE fan of the Lego industry. I have been playing with them since I was a kid (first set at 5, I am 22). This is the first set I have gotten since I was a kid, and my expectations were high for getting another set, but they were still exceeded. I was amazed at the design and engineering in the toy, bringing me back to my childhood, it now sits on my desk at work, and I'm hoping to eventually collect them all.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2012I love this building. It's not too big, so you can put it anywhere after you are done with it. Looks very very cool.
The only thing I don't like about it is the price. Really? That much for such a small model? I know Lego charges a bunch for their stuff, but come on people.
If the prices weren't so high, I would buy every single one of these models, and put them on shelves around the house. But that's how I am.
Love the LEGO, hate the high prices of them.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2013It was a "You're moving to NYC" gift for my grad. He loved legos as a little boy and combining the momento of his move with his childhood toy was a fun gift for him. It is easy to put together obviously and as most Lego lovers know even the most complicated doesn't seem all that challenging because you have done so many. It is the art of the Legos that seems to inspire us as we grow older. He has it packed in his things, on its way to NYC to decorate his new place.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2015Does NOT match the other Lego Architecture sets. Incredibly small compared to the others, and requires minutes to put together. Surprised by this, considering the price point is similar to the other Architecture sets we purchased for my teenage son for Christmas ($45). His goal was to build and display these historic pieces on a shelf in his room, but we feel that this specific piece does not fit in with the others, as it is way too petite and lacking detail. Other sets purchased were Big Ben, White House, and Leaning Tower of Pisa. Pleased with all others as they very highly detailed, but most definitely not this one. What a waste of money! Disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars "El Rascacielos"

1.0 out of 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars
