How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2013This book is a very good reference for choosing restaurants out of town. Also as a member of the James Beard Foundation, it helps me to choose the dinners by guest chefs that I want to attend.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2014I purchase a dozen or more copies of this every year for gifts to my sales team and top managers. This being year 5, I scaled back - thank god. Everyone I give this to become’s very excited around Xmas time for their new copy. This year was a complete disappointment. Being from Cleveland I may be a bit biased but Cleveland is not even in the book! Say what you want about Cleveland but come here and see the GREAT restaurants, micro breweries, and diverse cultural choices with regard to food. We are home to an Iron Chef for Pete’s sake. 50 pages less than years before, no wine chart, but you get a whole state of Connecticut restaurants, filled with local chain places and ratings of 20 -21 or less. Connecticut? Most people in Connecticut drive to NYC or Boston for real restaurants. Do yourself a favor and look for a used 2013 book, you will probably save some money and be better informed.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2014The book was extremely helpful. I used it when visiting Tampa, a city that I do not know well. The assortment of restaurants was fine, and the reviews were quite accurate.
