if you mean changing to a non-HDHP in future years, you will still be able to use the HSA funds. There are some penalties/forfeitures if you change in the middle of the year, but I don't think that sounds like it applies to you.

We are currently on a HDHP with an HSA, and I've been trying to figure out if we'll be able to use the funds from our HSA in the future if we end up switching to a non-HDHP? I know you can only open it and contribute when you are currently on a HDHP, but what about when withdrawing the funds in the future?

Another great thing about the HSA is that the above the line tax deduction is not phased out based on income so the more money you make the more beneficial the tax deduction for HSA contributions is.
