Online Shopping Resources: Cyber Monday and Beyond

Posted by Madison on November 24, 2008

Didn’t feel like getting up early and braving the crowds and long lines on Black Friday? Cyber Monday is just for you. Today, is the online version of Black Friday… Cyber Monday!

If you plan to shop online today or anytime this holiday season, here are some helpful resources to save money.

Cash Back Programs

I’m always on the lookout for the best cash back programs. Here are the ones that I plan to use this holiday season. In addition, many of them are holding their own holiday “sales” offering extra cash back for the holiday shopping season.

Find out which cash back program offers the highest amount for each store you shop at using ev’reward.

Shopping Idea Lists

Still not sure what to buy some of the people on your list? I love checking out gift guides and toy lists to see what others are buying. Sometimes it helps me with ideas, sometimes it’s just pure entertainment!

Amazon Holiday Toy List. The Holiday Toy List is fun. You get to watch videos of the toys in action. It can also be sorted by age or price, helping you stick to your budget! You can also check out Black Friday at Amazon too.

Buy.com Holiday Gift Guide. Buy.com Holiday Shopping Guide has some great ideas if you are not sure where to start. Here are some of the most popular gift recommendations to get your wheels turning.

Stuff Kids Like Gift Finder. StuffKidsLike.com has a fun gift finder at the bottom where you can shop by price, and stuff for kids, or stuff for big kids! They specialize in board games and puzzles, which are usually a family gift each year at my house.

Coupon Codes

Retail Me Not. Use Retail Me Not to find the coupon code for the retailer you want. However, you don’t just get a list of coupon codes, they keep track of the success rate for the coupon. No more wasted time with codes that don’t work!

Naughty Codes. No deals, no sales, just coupons at Naughty Codes. I like the simplicity of this coupon site.

Buy.com. 20% off at Buy.com using the $20 off $100 Buy.com Coupon. Valid for a limited time for new Bill Me Later customers. Be sure to read all the terms to get your $20 credit.

Comparison Shopping

I use comparison sites regularly to find the best deal. Here are some of my favorites:

However, don’t forget that sometimes they don’t always include some of the big online retailers like Amazon or Buy.com. Make sure to check those sites directly.

Credit Card Rewards

I always combine my online shopping with cash rewards credit cards to earn even more money back. If you don’t already have one, here are the best cash rewards credit cards, including the Discover More card, which gives a $50 cash back bonus.

Comments to Online Shopping Resources: Cyber Monday and Beyond

  1. Thanks for the Black Friday info — I wasn’t hip to the Retail Me Not site, nice find. We are attempting to collect this information in one location (yes, another mashup) at blackfrideals.com. I appreciate your comments and advice on how to make it more useful.

    Take care,

  2. Another really good one is CurrentCodes.com, which I like a lot better than RetailMeNot, mainly because they actively maintain their own list, where RMN is full of coupons that don’t work. I usually check CurrentCodes first, then sift through RMN if CC doesn’t have one.

  3. I use http://www.momsview.com. Thanks
