Friends and Family Profiles
As most of my friends and family know my love for finance, I am often asked about my opinions on various topics. I have completed taxes, managed portfolios, set up budgets, had finance-discussion lunches, advised on credit card debt, and brainstormed some far fetched financial ideas. I will write about some of the work I have done with them here, as I think others will benefit from it.
Here are the profiles:
Sandy and I often discuss money matters about stocks and investing. She turned me onto an idea about how to get into the IPOs of banks that were making the conversion from mutual banks to stocks. Read about it here. Sandy has an accounting background and a family of four. She is also familiar with self employment.
Sam* works in the public sector and is married. She and her husband are nearing retirement age and are maxing out contributions to retirement accounts. Her children are grown. She has expertise in tax and I often discuss tax strategies with her. I manage select portions of her retirement accounts.
Karen, 20, is a college student. She has a part-time job while she attends school. Until recently, she wasn’t interested in investing or saving for retirement.
I’ll add more profiles as I introduce the topics and people.
